Selling the RV

When we found out that there was another baby on the way we examined our current living situation and realized that in order to preserve our sanity (with a newborn and toddler), we needed to live in a house for awhile so we are postponing our travel plans and moving to the Oregon coast in May when R graduates law school. My mom has a house in Depoe Bay that is currently not being used and we’ve always wanted to live in the Pacific Northwest. We’ll be a couple blocks from the ocean in a small town that will be perfect for us for awhile. It is the whale watching capital of the Oregon coast, the smallest bay in the world, and a big fishing town so I’m sure we’ll still find plenty of adventures. We also have some family nearby including my cousin who has a little one and a baby on the way as well!

We are sad to see Slipstream (our name for the rig) go but we decided that it would be more beneficial to sell and re-purchase when we are ready to hit the road rather than just let it sit there for a few years. In the long run I think it will be great that A and tidbit will be a little older when we travel and might even remember some of our adventures on the road. So we will be stationary home dwellers for a bit but we’ve picked one of the most beautiful places ever to plant some roots!

If you have always wanted to visit Oregon and the surrounding areas please plan a visit to see us since we will be in the newborn baby bubble for while (aka housebound) it will be nice to have friends passing through from time to time. Thanks for your support everyone; we realize that we are crazy people who never make it easy on ourselves but we seem to always come out stronger on the other side.

  1. Depoe Bay looks gorgeous! I bet you’ll love it. We have a trip to Portland on the horizon…maybe we can make a detour to visit you!
